Quantum Wire Shelving Casters for Mobile Storage
Wire shelving casters convert compatible four-post shelving into mobile storage for stocking, staging, supply distribution, service areas, and other commercial tasks. What to Check Before Ordering
- Post and stem compatibility: confirm the caster is designed for the exact shelving post or required insert.
- Wheel material and environment: consider floor type, moisture, cleaning, temperature, and any ESD requirement.
- Load rating: check both the caster rating and the approved capacity of the complete mobile shelving unit.
- Brakes and steering: verify the number and type of braking, swivel, or rigid casters included in the selected set.
- Shelf dimensions: follow the product’s minimum shelf-depth or width recommendations for mobile use.
Do not multiply a per-caster rating and assume that result is the safe mobile-unit capacity. Posts, shelves, caster arrangement, floor conditions, load distribution, and the manufacturer’s complete-system rating can all reduce the allowable load. Keep loads evenly distributed and follow the installation and operating instructions supplied with the selected set.
Mobility and Starter/Add-On Units
A Starter Unit has four posts and can form a complete freestanding mobile unit when the exact shelving and caster combination is approved. An Add-On Unit shares posts with an adjoining bay and is intended for connected stationary runs; do not turn a Starter/Add-On row into one rolling assembly unless that complete configuration is specifically approved by the manufacturer.
