Quantum Stainless Steel Wire Shelving for Demanding Areas
Stainless steel wire shelving is designed for applications where corrosion resistance, durability, and cleanability are more important than the lower initial cost of chrome. Quantum uses 304 stainless steel for this shelving family, making it well suited to commercial kitchens, foodservice storage, high-humidity rooms, clean rooms, and other demanding indoor environments. The open-wire design keeps stored products visible and supports air circulation, while adjustable shelves help accommodate changing ingredients, equipment, and supplies.
Chrome, Stainless Steel, or Epoxy?
- Chrome: an economical, bright finish for dry indoor storage.
- Stainless steel: the premium option for corrosive, high-humidity, clean-room, or frequently cleaned areas.
- Epoxy: a practical coated option for wet or humid storage; available finishes also support foodservice, cooler, and display applications.
If the area stays dry, chrome wire shelving may be the better value. For wet or humid storage at a lower price point than stainless steel, compare epoxy wire shelving. Review the exact product specifications when chemicals, washdown procedures, or sanitation requirements are involved.
How Starter and Add-On Units Work
A Starter Unit includes four posts and the selected shelves, so it can stand on its own. An Add-On Unit normally includes two posts and the selected shelves; it connects to a compatible Starter Unit or adjoining bay with S-hooks and cannot be used by itself.
- For one shelving bay, order one Starter Unit.
- For a two-bay run, order one Starter Unit plus one Add-On Unit.
- For each additional connected bay, add one more compatible Add-On Unit.
- Start every separate row with a Starter Unit and match depth, height, finish, and shelf levels across the run.
To create a compatible mobile unit, shop wire shelving casters and follow the listed post and load requirements. Browse all wire shelving for additional finishes and configurations.
